Tomales Bay Kayak Rentals
At Tomales Bay Expeditions our goal is to ensure that your experience on the water is both safe and satisfying. As a fully mobile outfitter we offer drop-off kayak rentals at various locations on Tomales Bay. These include, but are not limited to public access points in Marshall, Point Reyes and Inverness. If you are staying in a home, hotel or B&B with private access to the bay and would like to arrange a drop-off, please call or email in advance as logistics and availability may vary. We currently offer half day, full day and overnight rentals. PFD’s, paddles and spray jackets are included. Being that we do not launch from a specific location, all drop-offs are done by reservation and are subject to availability.
If you have questions or ideas about ranging a more personalized paddle we’re here to help. Be it a picnic, birthday or boat-in camping trip, we believe that every expedition deserves to be crafted to meet the needs of it’s participants. While no prior experience is needed for these endeavors, first time paddlers and those who are new to the area may consider a guided tour.
Note: Afternoons on Tomales Bay are often windy so mornings are usually a safer bet when planning your day on the water. All paddlers must be at least 5 years of age and a minimum of 50 lbs.
Boat-In Camping in Tomales Bay, Point Reyes
Boat-in Camping is one of few ways to experience the natural beauty of Tomales Bay by day and night. As this is a self-supported expedition, we recommend packing light, bearing in mind that a larger amount of gear also increases the difficulty of the paddle. While the fluctuation of weather is inevitable, the logistics of these trips may vary. As safety is our top priority, we are more than happy to assist in planning your itinerary. Camping beaches are accessible from either side of the bay, however there is often a means of reaching these destinations with less risk involved.
Note: All Boat-in Camping is done by reservation through the National Park Service.
